We partnered with Foods from Spain and Quesos de Murcia to provide Drunken Goat® to 50 chefs participating in StarChefs’ recipe contest promoting the cheese. Drunken Goat® is Forever Cheese’s brand of the Spanish cheese Queso de Murcia al Vino DOP, a semi-soft goat cheese soaked in Monastrell wine. Forever Cheese co-founder Michele Buster was instrumental in establishing the cheese in the U.S.
Chef Masako Morishita of Maxwell Park took home the grand prize with her recipe for Murcia al Vino Tsukune Meatball with Shiso, Teriyaki Sauce, Egg Yolk, and Chives. The runners up were Chef Marcel Vigneron with his Macaroni and Cheese with Murcia al Vino Cheese PDO, Thyme, Serrano, Panko Breadcrumbs, Espelette, and Chives and Chef Annie Pettry with her Murcia al Vino PDO Cheese Tart with Roasted Shallots, Figs, Arugula, and Wildflower Honey.
