Leonardi Gran Riserva Gorgonzola
This premium cheese is made at a small artisanal cheese plant in Valsesia at the foot of Monte Rosa by a cheesemaker with over 30 years of experience. Milk is collected from freely grazing dairy cows north of Novara in the hills to create a blue so creamy that it’s best served with a spoon. Brothers Maurizio and Fabio Leonardi personally select the best wheels to become Gran Riserva. We bring it in slightly firmer so that the cheese will maintain its integrity on the trip over. It is fairly mild with decadent creaminess. Pairs well with a variety of foods from ripe fruits to red meats (melted on steak). Serve with a Moscato or Vin Santo wine. Preorder only.
